Stopped here for a quick bite before driving back up to Seattle after a recommendation from my tattoo artist. My boyfriend and I each got 3 tacos (vegetarian for me and meat-eating for him) and shared the elote. Elote: 5/5 - Shared the elote to start and it was soo delicious. I could eat this everyday. I also appreciate that they don't bring it out scalding hot so you can eat it right away without burning yourself like I usually do on corn Black kale and mountain spinach: 3/5 - Delicious, but I wouldn't order again. I felt this needed something more "meaty" and substantial and also more sauce. This is a tasty way to get your greens in though, especially with the salsa verde! I did love the corn in this one. Wild hongos (mushroom): 4/5 - Flavorful and substantial. I'm not the biggest fan of arugula but most mushroom lovers would love this one. Aguacates (avocado): 5/5 - By far my favorite of the 3 vegetarian tacos. I loved the addition of black beans and slaw on this one. Would absolutely order this again! My boyfriend tried 3 different tacos and stack-ranked them: 3 - Blackened salmon 2 - Smoked Carlton Farm's pork belly 1 - Piedmontese short rib Pretty fast and reasonably priced. Really loved this place. We've been here for the last flight assortment and glad we were because they had a new selection going. Very tasty flight. Food was great. The mole nachos were great. A lot of chicken and fixings. The vegetarian tacos were awesome my love said. All in all really happy with today's experience trying the food. See you soon

Excellent spot in the Pearl. Great tequila selection, outside tables, and pretty authentic tacos and tostadas. I love the Posole Rojo, and it was awesome. Great salsa selection for chips, including ghost pepper crema.

What's not to like?! Carlita's is known for its excellent menu, extremely welcoming staff, and tasty drinks. After visiting for my first late-night fun this past weekend, I would happen to agree. There is abundant seating inside and out, with great shade and people-watching opportunities. If you do not mind the streetcar passing every few minutes, you will enjoy this location outside. The team is incredibly lovely. I think at least three separate servers spoke to us about life multiple times, which is still rare in Portland, so I was glad to meet new folks and hear their menu recommendations. I was lucky to arrive in time for the happy hour menu - which is amazing - and we quickly decided on the special taco, ceviche, and several other tacos. The drinks and food arrived in good time, and we never felt pressured to leave, which can be expected at Mexican-inspired restaurants. My only critique is that the tacos had too much happening. Do not get me wrong... they were tasty, yummy, and filling. However, there were too many bland flavors coming from the excess coleslaw. Instead, I'd enjoy more of the curated flavors from each taco. I'll be back for sure!
